The Local Area

Shops

The large Migros supermarket is a few minutes walk away, and many other food shops within minutes. There is also a 24 hour bakery serving a large selection of breads, pastry and the local delicacy, Baklava, a greengrocer and butchers. As you walk down towards the harbour, you will find lots of individual shops selling clothes, china, jewellery, handbags, sports clothes and many others.

Bank and Cashpoints

These are a few minutes stroll down the main street.

Spas and Hammam

If you fancy being pampered, you must visit one of the luxurious boutique hotel spas or the traditional Hammam Bath. There are also lots of Turkish barbers available for a haircut or a close shave.

Beaches and Beach Clubs

Enjoy the beautiful Turquoise coast, with its lovely Blue flag beaches and crystal clear waters

There are a large variety of beach clubs all offering something different for all the family. The nearest is a 10 minute walk to the harbor, or a boat can be taken to visit any of the many others nearby. There will be a list of available beach clubs in the villa, explaining what facilities they offer and different prices.

The nearest beach is in the town, a 10 minute walk away. Taxis can be taken to reach the other beaches, again a list of these will be available to you in the villa. The famous beaches of Patara, known for the protected loggerhead turtle, is a taxi ride away, also Kaputas Beach with stunning views from the cliff tops.

It is also possible to take a boat trip and sail around the coastline and swim in the crystal clear waters, and enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch onboard.

Local Market

The local market takes place every Thursday and is a two minute walk from the Villa. It is filled with spices, fruit, veg as well as a selection of handbags, clothes and electrical items. There are also refreshments available such as freshly squeezed fruit juices, and local food.

Restaurants

All the Cafes, bars and restaurants are just a short few minute stroll. There are many different restaurants available suitable for all tastes, ages and budgets, all offering the different aspects of Kalkan life, you can eat whilst watching the boats in the harbour, or enjoy a moonlight rooftop meal, or eat on the quaint old street. 

]There are a great variety of bars such as sports, music, cocktails, a bar for all tastes.

Transport

Taxis in Kalkan are very cheap and can be ordered via WhatsApp, arriving within minutes. There will be a list of taxi numbers available in the Villa for you. There is also the local Dolmus (small bus), which can be caught from the bus stop in town. Cars and scooters are also available for hire, starting at a day rate, cars can be collected from the airport if required.

Pharmacy

There are many Pharmacy's available in the town just a few minutes walk away, offering lots of different medical supplies, should you need any during your stay, most speak some English.
